In Montreal, urban public transit is provided by STM.
Fare
- 1 ride: $3.75 (plus 2 hour transfer)
- 24 hours: $11.25, same cost as three rides
Get the 24-hour pass; it will be more practical.
How to pay
Place an OPUS or disposable fare card on the blue pad. Credit cards aren't accepted.
Buying a fare card
In a metro station, you can buy a card from a vending machine or a station agent.
OPUS card
Montreal uses the OPUS transit card, also used elsewhere in Quebec. It costs $6.
Disposable card
It's free and made of cardboard!
